I haven't found a way to get one in game, and it is much too expensive to try it out to see if it is worth it. Maybe add a way to get one or too in game? Like a special mission or something like that.

  I can tell you, it's not worth it.  You'll get better results from buying a much larger amount of heroic essences.  I spent 2700 gems on them a few weeks ago when I'd first started (I used the gems I'd gotten for each levelup), and I got nothing good from it.
  
  And, mind you, I'd done that in like my first week of playing, so it wouldn't have taken much to make me happy.
