In games such as Brave Order, and really any game today, chatting with the community and making friends is what keeps most people around. The chat working fluidly for this is vital to keeping a large community of long-time members.
I noticed you've done some work on the ingame chat since when I'd first started playing, but there's more to be done. It seems that you have fixed the issue of commas preventing messages from entering into the chat, but there are still vital problems that are impairing the chat.
1: Most importantly, fix whatever bug is causing players' chats to cease updating new messages until the players refresh their browser. With such a high chance of not seeing one's own messages enter into the chat, most people just decide to not even bother typing most of the time. That stops people from making friends that they actually talk to, and without friends a lot of people will stop playing.
Once that top-priority problem has been fixed, there are two other things that could be done to drastically improve the quality of the chat:
2: Trim down the amount of space above and below messages in the chat. At the moment, there is a little bit too much empty space above messages, and way too much wasted space below messages. If you trim off some of that extra space, you can easily make messages 20-25% smaller without making them any harder to read or distinguish. Less space taken up by messages means 2 more messages can fit on the screen at a time, which means it will take slightly longer for messages to get buried, making people a bit less resistant to speaking.
3: Remove rewards for all levels of Like achievements except for the first level. It just makes everybody spam <3 in the chat all day. It doesn't encourage people to chat and make friends, it actually discourages it. Some people don't talk just because whenever they check world chat, all they see is a bunch of people asking for likes or posting emotes to get likes, to get the gems for the achievements. To make up the massive reward the achievements gave to people, you can add levels to other achievements (and award them to people who've already completed the requirements of said achievements) such as:
Spirit Caller IV: Use 500 Heroic Essence - 1 of each Catalyst
Spirit Caller V: Use 1000 Heroic Essence - 2000 Gems
Diversified Tactician: Win 5 PVP Battles with every element present in your army - 1 Heroic Essence
With at least the first two points met, the ingame chat will be noticeably better.
