New player/member, help/advice
Welcome to Doomsday Alliance. Please respect others in the Alliance and game.
I have written this for new players to the game mainly. All can read. This is how I played the game and progressed from the beginning.
I have seen the game with this vision from early days. You need patience, but there is a good feeling of reward in this game as you watch your team grow. There are many walls, and days where you feel, you are not getting anywhere. But once you over come those walls, I can guarantee, if you enjoy the concept, your gaming gets better and better, with each wall. Try not to look at other players, and think your no better than them. Everyone grows at different paces in this game. If you follow some of my recommendations, and stay focused, you will have fun, I’m sure.
Your aim in this game is to build teams of hero’s, with troops, using their ultimate and passive abilities to benefit each member of your team.
There are some players which have created some unique teams, and when you come up against them in battle, you may loose, but learn a big lesson, and also some admiration for that player and team.
In this game you get rewards for reaching achievements. These rewards are very valuable, and my 1st recommendation it that you do not use any of these rewards until you have decided on which hero’s and troops you are going to use for your main team. This advice is highly recommended if your a going to be f2p.
Every 30 days a new event occurs normally. There are numerous spin offs from this event, but the main event is the Elemental Challenge. This should always be your main focus. I can not stress this enough. You need to be building a team which can get you to a reasonable level as this is where you will gain your most income on a daily basis. You will get your daily supply of gold and special tokens. The higher the level the more of this income you will receive. Which intern makes your progress faster. I recommend you build 2 tanks an attacker and a healer. One of your tanks needs to be a SSR tank eventually, if you spawn a SSR attacker even better as well. The rewards you get from achievements spend on these SSR Hero’s. If my maths is correct, you get enough Catalyst to get these 2 SSR hero’s abilities maxed. I strongly advise you do not use any of the catalysts you receive, on anything not SSR. Patience is a virtue. In my personal opinion the best SR tank is Adria for support, she is very common from spawns as is their artifacts. She is also great for boss events as her ability buff helps with melee units. she also has a healing artifact which I found very useful in the early stages. At the time of writing this, she helps me to beat level 16 of Elemental challenge, but it looks like this could be her limit. I may need another SSR tank hero to get any further, although most of my troops except for 3 tank troops are still 5 star. I have noticed at level 16 my troops don’t do much damage now, except for my 2 sets of Shadowed Infiltrator. Level 16 is a big step for most, but if you can beat level 10, and complete the daily challenge, you will get around 1m gold a day(I could be wrong on this number, but not to far, I believe).
When you have established your main team, you will need to invest in runes and tactics at some point. This can seem complicated. I recommend that you put defence as main stat, on all defenders and attack power on all attackers as main stat at the early stages. If you can get extra health with the defensive units great, or critical chance with your attack power that’s good. Don’t be too afraid to invest gold in these runes as you will need to make your team stronger to progress. You could have these runes on a hero for weeks or months, so don’t think your wasting resources. I also recommend you don’t gamble and invest in any of the secondary stats increasing. Don’t worry to much about rune sets early on, unless you have one. I would spend a bit of food daily, grinding runes from the realms when you open that section. You will be nicely surprised what runes you find. There are some great runes in the shops, but almost all of my best runes I managed to find from grinding(in auto x2. Lol).
Hero’s and troops can be upgraded by using hero’s and troops with the same star rating. If you use a hero or troop, of the same type, you will also increase the ability of the hero you are upgrading. It is more cost effective to bank the same type of unit, until you have enough to upgrade that unit type. Patience comes into your planning here for sure. But it is far more rewarding as your unit becomes even more powerful when you are able to upgrade their abilities. This is why you need to keep the Catalysts you get from rewards, for your SSR units and items. These units are called Super Super Rare, for a reason, and the only way to increase these units and items abilities is if you have another SSR of the same type. Upgrading these hero’s will cost you Marks. It costs 400 marks, to upgrade to 5 star on a hero unit, and 2000 to upgrade to 6 star. You will be rewarded with Mark’s as you progress through the realms. I recommend that you do not spend these marks you are rewarded on anything else but your hero and troop upgrades. They will soon be spent if you are not careful. You can grind marks from the world map. Every 4 days an event occurs, in a realm, where you can get extra marks. The maximum you can get for a cost of 10 food is 12 marks, from each battle.
You can get extra food from battling other players in the pvp arena. You can earn good food income from these battles. I recommend also that you do not take pvp to serious in the early stages. Just use your main team from Elemental Challenge that you are building. Don’t get side tracked, into pvp, unless you have spare items/units/runes. You will reach a point where you will start spending marks to search for a player that you can beat. You need to find your level at stay there. Find an active player at the same level as you and leave an easy team to beat as defends. Message a player that keeps attacking you, ask them to leave an easy team for “you”to beat. Keep revenging each other, which cost no marks and you can earn food.
I wish you all happy, FairPlay gaming.
F2p can enjoy this game very much. I am not. I buy the bi-weekly pass and have also bought the life time pass. We have a great F2p player Mylene, currently in our Alliance, so don’t get disheartened, and think you will never get there. Mylene is one of the strongest players in the game currently. I’m not patient enough for f2p, but also the game needs a bit of sponsorship. If you have the funds get the life time pass, to help keep the game going, especially if you enjoy it.
Thanks for reading.
See you in game

Also when you join an Alliance don’t be nice and go donating half your stock of marks to one or all of the Campaign events. Trust me no one will thank you for doing it. Also you will regret that decision a few weeks later, when you see the cost of upgrading hero’s. I can not emphasis enough how much you will need those marks. Just donate 10, it’s enough to get you into the Campaign I believe, when it starts. When you can clear 12 marks, from 10 food, have a look at your stock before you think you can donate more. Remember it cost 2000 marks to get a hero to 6 star. 1000 marks to get a troop to 6 star. :)
